Super Daddy!

Brielle and I had a first week without daddy! Sean went back to work last Monday. He had 5 weeks off with us, which was AMAZING!! Since Brielle was born December 18th, and the last day of school was December 17th, Sean got the 3 weeks of Christmas Break off and then he took off another 2. It was so awesome having him home. He got to bond so much with Brielle and he was my little servant when I was nursing. He'd bring me food, water, the remote, whatever I needed. We were sad when he went back to work, but we already visited him twice for lunch! We just missed him too much!

I'm so grateful for my awesome husband! When Sean and I first got married, he made it very clear to me that no one was going to "wear the pants" in our family. We were going to "wear shorts" together, be equals. He has proven to me throughout our marriage that we are equals and a team. Not that I doubted his daddy skills, but he has shown me again that we are "wearing shorts" together. We are raising and taking care of Brielle together. None of the, "well your the woman" stuff. I'm sure if he had boobs, he'd nurse right along with me! Ha ha, I know that sounds funny but that's really the only thing he can't do for her and I know he wishes he could help feed her. So, Sean is a super daddy and a super AWESOME husband! Heavenly Father was really looking out for me in the marriage department!

Wish I could stop time....

Can time please stop! Our little girl is one month old today! It hardly seems possible! We feel so blessed to have her in our lives and we are having so much fun! On Sunday, 1/16, Brielle smiled at us for the first time. Not the 'sleeping' smile, but an actual smile! I was talking to her and she smiled at me but I thought I was seeing things. Sean was in the other room. I said, "um Sean, I think Brielle just smiled at me." He came in and preceded to talk animated to her and she then gave him the biggest smile! We both about died!! It was the most precious thing we've ever seen. Needless to say, she stole our hearts yet again! So happy one month birthday Brielle!! And please slow down on the growing up!

I LOVE baby yawns!

Life has been so wonderful with our new little girl. She is such a good baby. She only cries when she is hungry and sometimes when her diaper is changed. But she is so happy and content. She already had her 2 week check up last week and she turned 3 weeks on Saturday. SO SAD!! I just don't want her to grow up! At her appointment, her weight went from 7 lbs 14 oz to 8 lbs 6 oz! And her height went from 20 1/2 in to 21 3/4 in! She is in the 90th percentile in height! She is tall and lean and apparentely my breast milk is doing her good!!
Sean is the best daddy and so in love with Brielle. I seriously could not ask for a better companion in caring for our daughter. He is 100% about doing his part. Love him for that!

Goodbye 2010...and hello 2011!!

I really can't believe 2010 is over! I must be getting older because the years are starting to fly by and I must admit....it's a little scary! So, I'm really trying to enjoy every moment!

2010 started off with some ups and downs. In January, we found our first home! A month later we got the keys and it's still unreal sometimes that we own a home. In February, we were excited because we found out we were pregnant again! Sean started telling people right away, but for some reason I had a really bad feeling about telling people and I was right. On Valentines Day, we lost another baby. I had almost given up on being a mom anytime soon. In March, we took a much needed vacation to our favorite spot, Cancun. So much healing happened there, spiritually and emotionally. In Cancun, I told our Father in Heaven that I would except any way that my children had to come and at anytime they needed to come. That was really hard for me to do. But if there is one thing I've learned in life, it's to except whatever God has in store for you with a smile. It makes life a lot happier and easier. A few weeks after we got back from Cancun, I suspected I might be pregnant. If I was, it would have happened in Cancun. BUT....I wasn't suppose to ovulate until 2 days after we got back...so could it be possible?? It was!! God had truly blessed us!

Just the pregnancy and birth of our sweet daughter has made this year the best year so far. We feel SOOOOOO extremely blessed to be her parents. Many people tried to give us so much negative advice and opinions about parenthood before our little girl was born. But Sean and I weren't buying it and we will continue to not buy into the negative mumbo jumbo. Having to struggle to become a parent makes it just a little more special to us. We are eternally grateful to our Heavenly Father for knowing what was best for us and to allow us to have struggles so that we can better appreciate the blessings.

Happy New Year To All!

Love,
Sean, Sierra & Brielle
