2009 Western Conferance Champs!

I have to brag for a second. Our team, the LA Lakers made it to the NBA finals once again!! Even though the road to the finals has been rocky, I still have faith in our team and in their leader, Mr. Kobe Bryant.

Long before I met Sean, my dear grandma and grandpa Thompson, deeply instilled in me the love for the Lakers. My grandparents never missed a game when they were alive, and I'm sure they are still on the other side, routing for the gold and purple. So thank you grandma & grandpa for truly giving me MY team!

Memorial weekend and my new addiction

Sean and I had a great 3 day weekend this last week. Friday, my best friend from college turned 25. I still can't believe it! When we met, she was 18 and I was 19. That seems so long ago! Then Saturday, Sean and I had a nice date night, then we went dancing again with some friends. It was really good exercise for my legs! Sunday after church we got to see our beautiful nieces!! We just love them so much! They are such dolls! Here are a few pics from our 3 day weekend.

How precious is she!?

I love being and auntie!

I have the most handsome husband in the WHOLE world!

Going dancing on Saturday.

Kristals bday party. My coworkers, me, Kristal, and her co workers

Before I end this post, I have to add one more thing....I am cursing Stephenie Meyer and her Twilight saga!!!! Ok, not really....I am just SOOO intertwined in her books! I can't put them down! I am on the 2nd book, "New Moon". I started last night, and I am already half way through! What is wrong with me?! HAHA. The last time I was obsessed with something, was when I was 12, and it was NSYNC! Now I'm 25, obsessed with books and movie. So PATHETIC! And I know I jumped on the ban wagon kinda late, but I will admit it now, I'm a Twilight freak!! Sean is not even the least bit annoyed. He actually encourages me! "Go ahead, buy this babe. Buy that!" What a wonderful husband I have...fueling my addiction! =)

ps. I can't wait for the New Moon movie. 11-20-2009!

She's here!!!!

Sophia Helena was born at 12:13 this morning weighing 6 lbs 14 oz and 18 3/4 inches! Olia did a great job and we barely got to the hospital in time!

She had been contracting all day. She arrived at our house a little after nine. She said her contractions were about 10 minutes apart. She told me to go get some rest before the fun started. I couldn't really sleep because of me nerves. At 11:30, my mom comes in and tells me we need to get to the hospital. I was like, "what?? all ready?". So, I quickly got dressed and Tom, Olia and myself are out the door.

We got to the hospital about 11:45. She got checked into triage, and I had to wait in the waiting room until she was brought into delivery. I texted Sean at 12:06. Not 10 seconds later, Tom came out and got me. I asked he what she was dialated to. He said a 10!! Woohooo!! I get in the delivery room, and it's all a buzz! She had one contraction when I was in there, and the nurse told her that the next one she could start pushing. So, during her next one, she started pushing and 3 pushes later, Sophia was here! I'm so happy we left for the hospital when we did!

Seeing a birth of a baby is such and amazing thing. And Olia did it all drug free, which was her request, not that she had time for an epidural anyway!=) I'm just so happy and blessed that she is a healthy baby. She has darker hair then Nina. It will be fun to see who she looks like in the next few weeks. I will post pictures later today. And thats if I'm not past out from exhaustion! I got into bed at almost 3 am and woke up at 7:50!! What the heck! But i'm excited to it's hard to sleep.

You did so great Olia! I'm so proud of you!

Being a birth mom

First off, Happy Mothers Day to all the mommy's! Second, Happy Birth Mothers Day too..(which was yesterday).

Birth Mothers Day is always the Saturday before mothers day. Many people have asked me why we just don't celebrate on mothers day with all the other mothers. Well, we (birth mothers), feel like mothers. We carried and delivered our babies, and we sacrificed for them. Something any good mother would do. But, we need our own day. Not because we feel that we are better then the rest of the mothers. It's because we are a different kind of mother. I personally feel that today, my birth sons adoptive mother should be celebrated. Today is her day. Yesterday was my day.

Being a birth mom is not something that I expected in my life. But it happened. As hard as it's been, and as many tears as I've cried, I'm grateful that it did happen. I now know the true meaning of being selfless. I never in my right mind would have ever thought that I could give someone else my little baby that I loved so much. But I did, and it was for him, not me. I never thought that I was strong enough to do something so hard. Now, I feel like I can take on anything. I never thought that I could love someone so much through pictures and letters, but every time I get a picture of my birth son, I fall in love with him even more. I am so grateful to be a birth mom. I am grateful to my birth sons wonderful parents who have been so good to me, have never forgotten about me and love him more then anything. I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father and Savior for not only getting me through the turmoil, but also for the atonement. Repentance is real and our Savior truly knows how we feel. So, every Saturday before mothers day, always remember that it's birth mothers day. If you were adopted, or know someone that was, or know a birth mother yourself, don't forget that wonderful woman who sacrificed and gave another couple such a wonderful gift. Because without birth moms, some mothers would not have a mothers day.

Sisters

Heavenly Father did not bless me with any sisters. He is wise enough to know, that it was probably better for me to have 3 rowdy brothers. He knew that in my future, there would be a beautiful and amazing woman that my eldest brother would marry. She would not just be my brothers wife, but truly a sister to me. Thank you Olia for taking such good care of my big brother, for giving me two BEAUTIFUL nieces, and for being the sister I never had. I love you!
This last weekend, Sean and I had a great time with our family. Saturday, we had a baby shower for Olia and soon to be born Sophia. It was a small party, but it was fun! We also got to go to dinner with our family that night as well. After church on Sunday, we went up to Tehachapi to visit Tom, Olia and Nina. And as you will see from the pics, Nina is still in love with her uncle.

Kristal and I at Olias baby shower

Kristals little girl Kyriel, LOVES Nina!

Thumb in the mouth and finger in the belly button. I did the same thing when I was her age.

If you give a little girl a tube of lipstick.....

She WILL open it and put it on her face!
